Next I tried a DVD. Trying to open one of the .vob files resulted in MediaPlayer appearing in the Deskbar as a running application, but no video window. After trying to quit MediaPlayer, then unmounting and ejecting DVD, MediaPlayer continued running (with high CPU loading in process controller). After 5 or more minutes, I killed it from team monitor. Syslog2 attached.

I was able to replicate this behaviour in both x86_gcc2 and x86_64 builds.

If you drill down to seeing the individual threads of the team in PC, is there one in particular that's using all the time? If so, it might be interesting/helpful to pick the debug option on that thread, then save a report to see where it's spending its time.

When I started looking at threads the system completely locked up. I managed two screenshots before it happened. I also attached another syslog (syslog3). I'm not sure how useful these are.

Not according to Process Controller. After the system locks up the only way to regain control is to kill MediaPlayer in team monitor.

Confirmed fixed in 49662 x86_gcc2. Close the ticket Thanks Dario (barrett)!

This may be related to ticket #8711. A couple of questions: Since MediaPlayer is replacing CDPlayer, then shouldn't it have an eject button (or menu item) for optical media? What is the difference between "close" and "quit" in the menu? They appear to be the same function.
