I did a fresh install and the icons were there. Is this still valid?

It's looking better, still missing ProcessController though. hrev49525, gcc2h, @nightly-vmware.

Actually, I have to take that back, after some more testing, only once have I seen the volume and network icons after boot, subsequent build-and-boot attempts have all either hung at the red rocket or are not displaying any deskbar icons.

ProcessController replicant is missing on new fresh installs here.

I'm still missing all deskbar icons on fresh installs here in VBox.

Pre launch daemon installs used to have an alert for network configuration, generation of security keys, mime types and then icons for network, volume and process controller. I don't see any of this for fresh installs anymore.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

It was all just a timing issue; the post install script was launched before the Deskbar -- if your system took longer than 3 seconds to launch the deskbar the icons were missing. This was commonly the case when the FirstBootPrompt appeared.

Anyway this is fixed with hrev49707.
