Description
Hi,
years ago, when I had fun with Cortex on BeOS, I remember that was possible drag and drop media files (eg *.wav audio files) inside its window, to directly play them inside Cortex (also to add fx chains).
If you take a look to the documentation of Cortex 2.1.2 for BeOS, you can read the following:
"File-producers: to create a node capable of playing a given media file (audio or video), drag the file into the routing window"
Now, on Haiku hrev50141 is no longer possible: when I attempt to drag an audio file in Cortex it claims about a general system error, as shown in the attached screenshot.
Maybe Barrett could take a look to this issue? I noticed the recent improvements which he made to Cortex.

I guess it's because we don't have a BFileInterface node dormant, enabling/installing the media_reader and media_writer should fix the issue
