There is already a draft: https://dev.haiku-os.org/wiki/R1/Beta1/ReleaseNotes

Needs updates from time to time.

Release notes need to be created for R1 would be better... Since I think there will be no Beta needed because there ist Pkgman the package manager doing the work? Isnt it?

The release process defined in Haiku is:

  • Alpha: because features are missing
  • Beta: because there are bugs left
  • R1: when we have all the planned features, and no bugs

We will stay in beta for some time according to this. We will probably get bored with fixing the bugs before they all go away, but it seems sane to have one or two beta releases and improve the stability and other problems. I think we will tag the "final" R1 only when we are already well into R2 development.

I think "improvements" is too general and not very interesting to read. A bit more details about the most significant improvements would be nice.

I think cocobean is just indicating items that should be in the release notes.
