I found Siarzuk's cab extract package in my BeOS archives. Maybe there's something in the package you can use. (attached)

The attached package allows Haiku to open cab files and has an icon to go with it (see attached screenshot)

The program attatched is for extracting MS Cabinet files. InstallShield CAB is a proprietary archiving format that just happens to use the same .cab
suffix

I see no point in having this part of the default install. MIME types can also be packaged with applications that supports them, and I think this is what we should do here because the format is uncommon and of little use.
For archive formats, usually the extracting application is packaged with the MIME type as well as an Expander rule. Have a look at unrar, lha, or similar recipes at haikuports.
Siaržuk Žarski produced a bunch of different archive formats for BeOS including for .cab files. Icons were included in the packages as I recall. Maybe they can be found on BeBytes.
