Experiencing something similar, have Haiku in a VirtualBox VM and encountered a Deskbar crash on boot after performing an update.

Hello everyone,

Same happens here:

  • After several issues with BePDF crashing on and on, Deskbar crashed loosing part of the preferences on the way.

Attached is the Debug report.

Thanks and regards. RR

These 3 crashes are different:

  • The first one is a heap corruption
  • The second is a crash in BMenu
  • The third is a crash in the VirtualBox Guest Additions deskbar replicants, it is not Haiku's fault.

I'm not sure where the current version of the virtualbox additions live. It seems to be a very large patch in haikuports so you can try reporting there: https://github.com/haikuports/haikuports/pull/6152/files#diff-462c2b7d37cd117f0c9415624477130fabc4537e8013acaf4bcac4248860246a

Or maybe it's one of these:

roiredxsoto, I appreciate if you could open a separate report for your crash. Putting all deskbar crashes in the same ticket is unhelpful and only further confuses things.
