Description
I would place a link to HaíkuDepot on the Desktop after a installation. Thats easier for new users to quickly check how to get new software.

I agree, only the most essential things should be put on the Desktop. Having only the Welcome page (and hopefully some day the Haiku Quick Tour) there, may even increase the chances of the user reading them... :)
If they do - esp. the Tour - they'll learn where to get software and the answers to a dozen more frequently asked questions and practical tips.

IMO this isn't a good idea, the Welcome page already references it. Close as invalid? But maybe humdinger has some more thoughts.
