MediaPlayer goes unresponsive on rewind

Hardware: ThinkPad x230, Intel Core i5 (4 threads), 12Gb RAM, SSD

MediaPlayer freezes for a short time if I try to rewind the audio right after application start. It will get back to normal after approximately 10 to 15 seconds.

Maybe unrelated, but audio length counters are not updating after second rewind.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Download ​this mp3 file
  • Open it in MediaPlayer
  • Try to rewind audio to the middle

Just noticed that it's not only length counters who are not updated, position bar doesn't also.
