Description
Multiple users have complained about having to go through Google Captcha to create a Trac account, thus it would be better to get rid of Google Captcha and have an alternate captcha provider.
One solution that has been suggested is to have a question asking "What operating system are you reporting bugs for?" (the answer obviously being Haiku).
Thanks!

The new question seems to be catching nearly all spam. We probably should still have a captcha to prevent spambots, but indeed it seems we can switch off of Google reCaptcha, and instead use one of the other captcha options.
nielx, any chance you might have a few minutes look into the other captcha options TracSpamFilter supports, and enable one of them? Otherwise I will look into it next week.

The options can be found here: https://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/SpamFilter#Captcha Which one do we want to go for? Alternatively with some dev work we can connect to another service.

We can try just the "image captcha" method I suppose, that seems simplest.

I have enabled the image captcha option, but I cannot seem to test it. So I am considering this fixed until we hear otherwise.
I added a question. We'll see how much of the spam it traps vs. how much gets to the captcha...
