Description
Hi there,
so far, Haiku does not support Ligatures in fonts. I have tested this using the logographic system of the font Linja Pona for the Toki Pona language. (https://github.com/janSame/linja-pona/)
With this font enabled, it SHOULD display Toki Pona words (like "toki", "li", "e", "musi" etc.) as hieroglyphs. It doesn't, though. It does work on LibreOffice though, because it has a custom font rendering system AFAIK.
As I am in the process of suggesting a Toki Pona translation for Haiku, this is a minor roadblock (the language is usually written using Latin script), but would still be an enhancement also for languages that use ligatures naturally.

This is also used by some "icon fonts" on the web, for example in the current version of Gerrit.
