Please retest with a nightly build; I am pretty sure this is one of the launch_daemon issues which was fixed since the last beta.

Which nightly?

Please use Ctrl+Alt+Del to get a Team Monitor window, then "Restart the Desktop" to get things to appear. Please then attach the syslog here.
