Description
Currently alot of screen real estate is unused both vertically and horizontally, things can greatly be improved by reducing the spacing atleast by half, see screenshots below where a Qt filemanager displays 3 rows by 3 columns + a sidebar in a window that is of the same size as the Tracker's one, whereas Tracker displays only 1 1/2 rows by 2 1/2 columns without a sidebar.

Yeah, you maybe right about Qt, but a window of that size should hold more than 1 1/2 rows by 2 columns, the Qt comparison was merely an example in order to show the unused real estate in a window of that size, to which you agreed that it could be improved.

Closing in favor of the newer #18295 which has more discussion of the technical details already.
We could probably improve spacing. But at least scaling in Qt apps is partially broken right now; spacing metrics are generally left unscaled. Once metrics scaling is fixed in the Qt port, the disparity will not be so big.
