Description
The power status/battery indicator icon for the PowerStatus application that can be run in the deskbar is not detecting my OEM battery in my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. I’m running the newest Beta 4 of Haiku on bare metal and the icon reads “No Battery” even though my battery is attached and charged. The PowerStatus icon worked correctly a few months ago on this same laptop when I installed Haiku Beta 4 on it the first time. A while later I switched over to BunsenLabs Linux, but I have since come back to Haiku. Now that I have installed Haiku this second time the power status icon almost always indicates “No Battery.”

Yes I’d be happy to. Would you please tell me how to do that? I’m fairly new to Haiku and this is my first time reporting a bug. Thank you!

I’ve only used Haiku Beta 4, if that answers your question. I first installed it on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop around the beginning of January, this year. I remember asking a question about Haiku on the Haiku Telegram channel on January 15th, and I mentioned the specific version I was running, which when I refer back to the post, it was Haiku R1/Beta (Revision hrev56578+65) x86_64. The PowerStatus icon would have been working correctly on my machine at the time. I hope that helps.

Hello, please disregard this ticket. I purchased a new battery for my laptop because the computer notified me that the old one was depleted and a replacement was suggested. Once I installed the new battery the power status icon began working correctly. The problem must have been my battery and not Haiku OS. Thank you!
