Network left in oddly broken state after disabling and renabling in Network Preferences

Description (last modified by )
After disabling then reenabling the Wifi and reconnecting to a network, the connection is in a very odd broken state. Network preferences shows green/connected and that the machine has an IP address. However, pings fail (including to ip addresses so I assume this isn't a DNS issue), and I am unable to navigate to new websites.
Bizarrely enough, however, if I already have a website displaying, I am able to continue browsing on that website only. It is not some sort of cacheing; I am able to navigate to pages I have not been to before (like new threads on the forum), as long as it is on the same domain/subdomain. This occurs no matter the browser I use. Similar behavior occurs if I toggle the hardware switch on my machine to turn off then on again the Wifi card (an Intel 7260).
Not totally sure what is going on here, but I have included images of the described behavior (all taken in the same session after disabling/reenabling the network), as well as a syslog. Please advise if anything else is needed.

Unknown host ping error when pinging domain instead of ip address

I believe this is a related ticket: https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9695

It is indeed.
If you are not already on hrev56735 or later, please upgrade and try again. If it still fails, please attach a syslog.

It appears that a new DHCP lease is not acquired after disconnect/reconnect. Please see if temporarily switching to "Static" and then switching back to "DHCP" under IPv4 fixes the problem.

Yes, after switching to static and back the connection starts working again.

I just checked, and it doesn't solve the issue with when I use the hardware toggle switch though; not sure if the distinction is important.
