Description
Dear devs !
I bought recently about a dozen music video DVDs, and actually I use Haiku Nightly 64 bit as a daily driver from a DVD thumbdrive as a daily driver. I have a same USB thumbdrive with R1Beta5 as well.
Actually Nightly was installed from this disk and after changed repos of Haiku/Haikuports to master branch.
I was on hrev59293 when first I loaded some of these Video discs, but always resulted with KDLs which cannot be exited continued, but reboot only from debugger console. Of course then I replaced Nightly install drive with R1B5 : thereI experienced as automount of discs worked as expected. In VLC navigation and plays also worked, only 3 of them won't playable as navigation failed - the menu appeared but clicking on items had not reaction or resulted in a quick flashing and back to menu.
Any baxk to Nightly. I upgraded later to hrev58309 - hoping some reported or someone may also experienced such results, or additionally a patch fixes my issue. Unfortunately it had not reported and fixed. Of course I took pictures with my Caterpillar B30 phone about those KDL messages, uploaded to Haiku, so I can provide, but this phone has a very limited camera I assume under 1 megapixel, so magnify it results in a blurry unuseful imagees.
However as I wrote in title the "media checker" component was running on CPU at KDL.
I can provide syslogs on both hrevs.
I know nowadays in the age of streaming this may not important deature of an OS, but maybe you think about archived family and other events which are still can be on optical discs , and some old er people who ons an optical drive in their PXs.
In hoping to one of you may investigate it ...
Kind regards

Try save-report
. When it works it saves a report on the desktop.
Look in the syslog anyway. I can find my KDL sessions there most times.
That the "media checker" thread is the faulting one isn't interesting, a stack trace is needed. If you can't manage to get a clear one, there is not much we can do here. And please don't add things to beta6 milestone, let the devs decide that.
