Description

Dear devs !

When I attempted to provide created evidences - taking photos about KDL messages of ticket 19240 -- and after I attached my Caterpillar B30 phone as USB disk to my PC I experienced a KDL that required a reboot when I unplugged the phone.

-> I unmounted both the phone inner storage and the SD card in it as well without problem. -> I checked my phone : is there an option to stop USB disk mode ? None was available. Selecting the Folder icon in menu it just stated I am in USB disk mode, but no option to stop/skip that worked. -> I have installed a Deskbar addon - usbdeskbar - but is is just a notification service about plugged unplugged an USB device

So I simply unplugged ... well for my surprise : it resulted into a KDL.

I took a picture, rebooted , attached the phone, copied the image file onto Haiku desktop, unmounted , unplugged .. and bumm also KDL.

I saved syslogs into zipped file, and now opening a ticket about it as well.

Kind regards,

All these pictures are just illegible. If you can't get legible pictures, please transcribe at least the first line of the KDL message ("PANIC: ...") by hand.

Indeed this was probably the same as that ticket and should be fixed in hrev58323.

I can confirm - it was fixed for me as well. I could moilt-in storage unt/unmount my B30 phone successfully. Both built-in storage and SD card worked as expected. Haiku opened as a Vcard text file my Nokia phone book backup.dat file. so I can restore my old contacts.

Thank you for your work !

Well, my joy came too soon - I got KDL with "USB explore". First I just unmount and when unplug the USB cable ... bumm! : KDL. I did experiencies with USB modes :

--> at power charge - I can plug / unplug the USB cable without KDL --> at PC connection - I can plug / unplug the USB cable without KDL --> at USB disk - I cannot unplug the USB cable, but if disk is not mounted.

However if I re-plug - I get a KDL again.

save-report command - what madmax offered in another ticket - it had not worked at KDL prompt. Such command had not found, so I assume it referred to crash report of debugger.

I still have Caterpillar B30 only, so I could not create useful photo about KDL. Also I cannot edit my photo on Haiku, I really miss some like irfanview here. There are serious and lightweight progs here it just does not fit my knowledge and what I want to do with photos to enhance them.

I'm unable to read the panic message or the stacktrace in this screenshot. Could you get a better one?

comment:7 by waddlesplash, 2 days ago

It's a crash in XHCI::FreeDevice -> device_node::DeviceRemoved. There's "deadbeef" in some of the registers.

I'm happy at least you could read it finally. This phone cannot magnify pictures to re-type the messages about I took photos. I probed, but there's no such feature. It's far more simple than my previous Nokia was.
