The same crash can be seen sometimes running the BeOS R5 CDPlayer application. KDL attached.

This one's still around, and a back breaker for those of us who try to use Haiku to rip CDs...still KDLs a lot when accessing CDs that have just been inserted into a drive. Is there any way to move this one up the food chain a little? Would love to see it solved somehow. Maybe we need to set up a bounty?

How to best reproduce it? Just insert (and mount) a couple of CDs? I've ripped quite a number of CDs on Haiku so far, and never experienced the issue.

I've asked Dane to type "continue" at the KDL prompt next time this occurs, on the wild chance this might work. If Haiku is still stable afterwards (and even if it refuses to rip that particular CD) I'll consider that good enough, and recommend commenting out that particular panic (and include the fix in our own build of Haiku in the interim time, I don't recall last time our recommendations got upstream'ed).

We stopped dealing with Audio CDs (they are no longer in use much in stations these days). @scottmc do you wish to close this ticket ?
Panic happens here:
