cdrecord -scanbus don't give a device
I have tested with an old working cdrecord that I took from a working Zeta installation. Ether it using a second bin to get it's information, or Haiku don't give the right information..

Not so fast.. Sorry but I have used the latest cdrecord for Haiku.. Cdrecord-ProDVD-ProBD-Clone 2.01.01a66 (i586-pc-haiku) Copyright (C) 1995-2009 Jg Schilling Using libscg version 'schily-0.9'. cdrecord: No target found.
Futher investigation has it that my CD/DVD are USB one.. and it's recognize (the icon) as a USB stick.
The weird thing are that it should also list HDD's

There are differences in the low level interfaces cdrecord uses for this. There is a native cdrecord for Haiku (see OptionalPackages), which works just fine:
