Description
Let S1 = the initially selected "Install from:" volume in Installer, which contains a proper _packages_/ Let S2 = another volume, without _packages_/ (uncertain if it must not contain _packages_/)
Run Installer, expand PackagesView. It's completely blank; not even displaying "No Optional packages available." Quit & Run Installer, Select S2. Select S1. expand PackagesView. Same display as above.
The only way to get PackagesView to properly display content is to expand it at least once and then select the desired source volume.
With PackagesView expanded, go from S1 to S2. "No Optional packages available." will be partially visible.. maybe this part is fixed with hrev36470?
Attached is a zipped _packages_/ for testing.

This could be a Layout issue, passing to stippi in case he has an idea.
