That's exactly what should happen when the *outline* option is *not* selected :-)

Well, I totally missed that, sorry. But would you please just open another bug report for this next time? At least I don't see any connection between the two. I've now reopened this bug and changed the summary to this new bug, though.

The option "IntegrateNonBootBeOSDesktops" is gone from the preference panel and can only be set directly in the TrackerSettings file. This makes testing exactly how diver did it impossible. I tried it with toggling "on/off" in the settings file and killing/restarting Tracker a few times. The Disk icon never disappeared (as it shouldn't with the unrelated IntegrateNonBootBeOSDesktops option, right?). Maybe it was some bug in the preference panel that went away with that option...
This was tested under vmware, hrev22943, with another BFS image mounted alongside /boot. So there's an non-boot home folder present, though not a "NonBootBeOSDesktop". I also tried with the option "IntegrateAllNonBootDesktops" and that works also as expected.
Maybe someone with a BeOS partition alonside Haiku should test it, too.

Hmm, not sure what to check here, too much diverging comments :-) Might be fixed. See hrev25941

There was "stuff" disappearing fixed in hrev25941. Besides, the test case is not reproducible anymore, closing.
Also with default settings open tracker settings and select Show Disks icon - Disk icon appears, but if you theen check Integrate non-boot beos desktop and uncheck it again disk icon will disappear, but haiku volume will not appear.
With some combination i managed to hide all desktop icons, dunno how to reproduce it yet.
