[SAT] windows disappearing when merging tabs

Description
gcc2 38655 & 38679, real hw & vmware
Open a Terminal window and a MediaPlayer window. Merge the two windows' tabs using SAT --> both windows disappear, leaving only the entries in Deskbar behind.
Reportedly no issue with gcc4h.

I can repeat the problem on all of the nightly 38659 vmware images (gcc2, gcc2h, gcc4, gcc4h). The reportedly working gcc4h instance was Humdinger's, probably running on real hardware.
