Description

Slider for tabs for WebPositive. I think its better solution than finding tabs by clicking a lot on left / right arrow [<] [>] on the right on tabs.

This really helps in going into the right tab .. this solution is quick and without clicking out your finger / or broke your left mouse button ..

If at all, a BScrollBar would be the appropriate control to use. However, I think it looks aweful. Even if the control can be hidden when not needed, it's much too prominent, I think most people would riot if I implemented that.

And for a reason :-)

Why not have a menu contain all tabs (and their titles)? For example, there is lots of room left in the "View" menu, and its functionality usually found in other apps, too. Furthermore, it would allow you to find any tab with a single mouse click.

The menu is a good idea, however it fits into the Window menu, where you also have an entry "New tab". In many other applications, you have a Window menu with entries for all open documents/windows. The implementation would be really easy (hint, hint), but please (whoever is doing it) take the time to follow the existing code and don't just hack it in there.

I ended up implementing a Firefox style tab menu which Stephan had started (he created the button for it) in WebPositive revision 569. As noted in the commit it still needs a few more things but in general it should fulfill the needs of this ticket, so I'm closing this.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
