Description (last modified by )
I have a Compaq Presario 14XL244 laptop. The VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller does not work. In reference to Ticket "#3313: VIA USB controller not working", it provides a solution; however, the laptop's BIOS does not have the option for PnP OS.
I installed the Alpha 2 and the most recent nightly CD's up to hrev38647-x86gcc2hybrid. It is always the same. I attached the USB drive, it briefly flashes as it connects, then nothing.
From Devices:
Class info: Serial bus controller (USB Controller, UHCI) Device name: VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller device/id: 0x3038 device/interface: 0x0 device/subtype: 0x3 device/type: 0xc device/vendor: 0x1106 . . . pci/bus: 0 pci/device: 7 pci/domain: 0 pci/function: 2
I have no means to transport the copies of files that you usually receive from the laptop since I need to use the PC Card for internet or the USB for devices. Any recommendations?

I retested laptop using Haiku R1 Alpha 3. It provided the same results as previous daily images. I attached a Archos ArcDisk20 and, when the OS sensed it, the red light flashed on the USB drive and went off. I used MOUNT for selection of the USB drive to mount--not listed for selection. I also tried two USB sticks...same thing....the stick always flash red when sensed, and sometimes it will stay lit/on when attached. Unfortunately, these were not mountable.
I attached four files for your analysis...I hope these help.

If it actually was the same as #3313 then this might now work using the IO-APIC. Please retest a recent image.
