Mail Status window flickers once per email

Description
The Mail Status window progress bar used to display the overall progress of downloading new/unreceived email. Now it appears to flicker on/off and describe the download progress of each individual mail received. I prefer the old behavior.
(One might also want to consider a short lingering of the window, post-completion. Like a second, or less.)

what do you exactly mean by flicker? That after connect the window disappear for a sort time? when does this 1/0 problem occur?

Assign tickets with status=closed and resolution=fixed within the R1/beta2 development window to the R1/beta2 Milestone

When downloading e.g. three email, the Mail Status window says 1/0, 2/0, 3/0 where it should have been 1/3, 2/3, 3/3. (Perhaps the POP3 chain erroneously reports a zero CountItems())
