#8164 closed bug (fixed)

I have a problem with wpa_supplicant. (DHCP?)

Description

I have a recent ..12weeks old snapshot. for wireless I use an ath5k type of controller. /boot/common/settings/network/wireless_networks is set up correctly

When I go to the network preferences menu

atheroswifi is disabled after every boot up. I must enable it. When I enable it,by selecting DHCP and look at system log, DHCP_Discover get all the correct values for resolv.conf (nameserver), gateway and the "your_address" After DHCP_DICOVER a DHCP_REQUEST is sent to the "your_address" this also gets the correct values but does not get a value for the "your_address" This may be alright???, but when I execute an ifconfig the device net address "your_address" is missing. The net does not work. The DNS (nameserver) address cannot be pinged. Any ideas?

Note: without /boot/common/settings/network/wireless_network and using ifconfig <device> join net name password, will nor work either. Using it often complian that atheroewifi is nut a wlan. Doing an ifconfig <device> up followed by the ifconfig <device> join net name password, will get accepted, but as I wrote without the correct DHCP address. The scan operation always works and my network name displayed.

Could you try again with a recent revision and eventually wpa_supplicant?

Owner: changed from nobody to axeld
Version: R1/alpha3R1/Development

WPA part should fixed in hrev43717/hrev43948.
Please check and open new tickets about DHCP and disabled atheroswifi after every boot up if it still occurs.

Since I submitted this ticket, I switched to AR9285. I did just checked wpa with hrev43952 and it works perfectly as long as I do not set up the wlan through the network preference panel, but just select the netwok, snd when requested give the password.

So as far as I am concerned, the ticket can be closed as fixed.

P.S. It would be nice if the wpa_supplicant would be included in the image.
