Description
This is hrev43809 in virtualbox.
I was just messing around with BeSol(1), crashing it a few times with a backtrace I'll attach an image of, and tried loading the old metrowerks project file in Paladin a few times (which didn't really work)... and then left the vm running overnight. Eventually when I came back around 24 hours or so later the vm had finally frozen.
I really have no idea why this happened, but it seems worth noting.
I'm attaching a log file of the serial debug log as well (which I have writing to an external file for situations like this)

It's frozen again, so I'm attaching both the serial.log and the virtualbox log files.
This is hrev48620 still.

Could the title of the ticket be changed to reflect more accurately the nature of this ticket? And perhaps even the description. The focus is pretty much on the VM freeze, not the besol crash, and the title doesn't reflect how this directly relates to the VM freezing and might not be a Haiku bug directly.
(I don't have access to modify the ticket.)

Further, it seems that it's the VM freezing and not necessarily Haiku directly, since when I go to close the VM window, which would normally ask you if you want to shut down or power off etc... it says it's not responding and asks if I want to force quit.
I don't know how much interplay there is between the guest OS and the VM to know if the bug might be solely in the guest, the VM, or the interplay between both.

I also have this problem with freezing VBox. I have to use 4.1.28 due to retina issues in current builds. In any case, guest is not allowed to crash the VM. If it happens it's a bug in the VM, we just trigger it somehow. Hence, I'm closing this ticket. If you have some free time you can report this but to VirtualBox trac.
backtrace of BeSol crashes I was causing earlier...
