Description
Downloaded the ISO torrent and burned to a CD. Booted from the CD and saw the screen in the attached screenshot. This machine has quite a few partitions, don't know if that's related.

Out of curiosity, is booting from a USB stick a possibility from that machine? If so, does the latter work?

Yes, I was able to install successfully from a USB stick. The machine has an Intel DH67BL motherboard, with two hard drives connected to 6G SATA ports, and the optical drive is connected to a 3G SATA port.

Could you attach a syslog from the running install? It'd be found in /boot/var/log/syslog
