broken reaktion of menues to keypresses

Description
In an open menue (I first noticed it with the keymap-selection during installation) typing in a character, lets say 'G', doesn't take you to the first entry starting with G.
When you open the Application-Menue and Press 'I' it opens DiskProbe, instead of highlighting Icon-O-Matic, 'J' and 'K' do nothing, and 'L' opens Mail
I'm runnung Alpha 4.1 in VirtualBox
