The same on a desktop with Radeon HD 5400/6300 Series card. Since a few revisions it only boots in safe video mode. I am testing hrev47213.

If this is a recent issue, could you try an image hrev47187 or earlier to see if you still have trouble?

I installed hrev47185 and my computer boots without using safe video mode. The Radeon driver for HD5450 (Cedar) is in use.

I think I have this one solved. The recent change to pll's makes too many assumptions that the spread spectrum data is valid and can divide by 0. Should be testing the solution shortly.

Tested hrev47259: It now works again. The Radeon card is in use. Thanks a lot for fixing this.

The same on Acer W500. Driver blacklisting solve problem, but native resolution became unavalible.
