Description
Hello, upon boot of Haiku in Virtualbox 5.2.18, process controller will show a spike in cpu usage before completely freezing up the system. Rushing to see where the spike came from upon next boot, I saw the spike was sourced from the media_addon_server. I believe this has todo with commit 8f21fce, as I had not been experiencing the lock ups before.

No, it doesn't; that commit (hrev52562) was just removing a workaround that isn't needed anymore.
The real problem is that the HDA driver appears to block in hda_stream_start. I don't know why this freezes the whole OS though; you can drop to KDL via the emergency keys at least, which is how I saw that in the first place.
