Sounds from notifications don't release the mixer

Once a sound notification has been played, it doesn't release the mixer and gain sliders are still appearing in Media prefs. If you open Cortex you can see that they still are connected.
It's on nightly x86_64 though as we weren't using them before, it may be there for a while.
