Description

While searching for docs regarding system logging, I found a broken link at the end of: https://www.haiku-os.org/documents/dev/system_logging

http://www.beatjapan.org/mirror/www.be.com/aboutbe/benewsletter/Issue61.html seems unavailable.

The most recent snapshot on web.archive.org is:

https://web.archive.org/web/20071110000949/http://www.beatjapan.org/mirror/www.be.com/aboutbe/benewsletter/Issue61.html

Also, googling for "www.beatjapan.org/mirror/www.be.com/" site:haiku-os.org

shows more results that may need to be fixed as well.

You can find the Be Newsletters in Haiku website instead. This one is here:

https://www.haiku-os.org/legacy-docs/benewsletter/Issue2-7.html

Yeah, thanks! I kept trying to find the "Issue 61" on the newsletter index, no luck of course :-D. I should have searched for the articles titles instead. Glad to know that there are no missing issues (only indexed differently).

Yes, article titles or dates work fine, I'm not sure why/when they were re-numbered.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

The system_logging page I migrated to the tree in hrev56939. Most of the other website pages I fixed in https://github.com/haiku/website/compare/2faee1d8c138...2d6722b063ec. There are still a few I didn't bother fixing, because so many other links on those pages are broken that they need to be rewritten or deleted...

Thanks!

Side-effect of this fix? TextSearch won't crash anymore when hitting system_logging.html :-)

IIRC, some lines in that file were far too long, and that made TextSearch crash... (I didn't reported it 'cause I was trying to fix it myself, seems I failed at both tasks. I'll try to learn for next time).

If you can reproduce that TextSearch crash easily enough with that file, please open a ticket for that, and attach a version of the file that causes the problem.

Easy to reproduce with that file still. Filed it under #18389.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
