Description
Set 'real time audio ' checkbox in Media Preferences. Restart Media Preferences-> 'real time audio ' checkbox is checked.
Reboot OS.
-> 'real time audio ' checkbox is unchecked
(Applies to all settings? not tested)
expected behavior: Media Preferences settings remembered after reboot

Just to note checking "Show Volume Control on Deskbar" is remembered correctly after a reboot.

I've seen this with hrev27746. It doesn't takes a reboot to notice the behavior. The realtime setting is not remembered, not for audio, not for video either.
