This is hrev40812.
The attached screenshot shows what happens if you move MediaPlayer with the Workspaces applet. It has to show a running movie, though. Pause the video and the effect vanishes.
This shows a part of the left edge of the far right workspace (4), after I moved the MediaPlayer window into workspace (3). The transparent checkered areas show the half-width of the playing video and peak levels, but the screenshot doesn't catch that. This is non-overlay.
Switching workspaces and back removes these artifacts.
Is this a gfx driver or app_server issue? I have a nVidia 7600 Go.
