Hardware Overlay setting in MediaPlayer causes fullscreen lockout

Description
When selected (default), hardware overlay in MediaPlayer->Settings causes video to go full screen blank and no ability to control (mouse, escape key etc..) works. Only apparent recourse is to reboot.
When unselecting Hardware Overlay, all works fine.
Running on real hardware- Video Card=Intel 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller, Intel 2.5 Gig Celeron cpu, 1 gig ram
